This is my 16th year to teach Kindergarten. I taught 12 years at Alcy Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee. I had a fellow teacher there who taught me everything I know about teaching Kindergarten. Without her help, I don’t know what I would have done in the early years. After moving to Nashville in 2003, I taught two years at Hermitage Elementary School. In the fall of 2005, I moved to Norman Binkley Elementary.
I have a B.S. degree from Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and a Master of Arts in Education degree from Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.
My husband is a Baptist minister. I have two grown children. My son recently completed a law degree at the University of Kentucky. My daughter is a junior at the University of Memphis, majoring in nursing.
In August teaching Kindergarten is extremely challenging because the children are so young and completely new to the world of elementary school. However, by May, I can look at them and see how much they have grown and how much they have learned. I love teaching Kindergarten and could not imagine being in any other grade
